QuickTime 7.5 Caution

As you may know, Apple released QuickTime 7.5 a few days ago. Initial reports of this upgrade are not good with reported issues of lost audio sync and playback stutters.

My recommendation is to avoid upgrading to this version of QuickTime if your Final Cut Studio system is currently working.

I'll have more on this in the next issue of my newsletter.

Hamburg Pro Audio has released version 1.0 of MXF4QT SD Import and SD+HD Pro Import.

The basic MXF SD importer supports a wide range of standard definition formats. By using this component you can read standard definition MXF files from both Sony XDCAM (OP1a) and Panasonic P2 (OP-Atom) without converting or referencing to the QuickTime file format.

The enhanced SD+HD Pro importer provides all functions of the SD importer plus support for all high definition Panasonic P2 variations including AVC-Intra. Speed up your P2 import tremendously in Final Cut Pro and freely define meta data mapping by using the included P2 importer.

You can download a demo version of each.
